FROM SOUTHERN AFRICA TO LAKE + LYNDALE

Peri-peri grew through Southern African food traditions shaped by chile, flame, garlic, citrus, and cooking over fire. VUKA enters that story from a Zimbabwean perspective, bringing flame-grilled chicken, five distinct flavors, and our own hospitality to Lake + Lyndale.

Peri-peri carries a history of movement. Chiles traveled across oceans, entered African agriculture and cooking, and became part of food cultures across Mozambique and the wider Southern African region. Around flame, seasoning, citrus, and garlic, peri-peri developed a life of its own. VUKA enters that broader story through a Zimbabwean perspective. Our version starts with flame-grilled chicken, five distinct VUKA flavors, and hospitality built for the table. Now that story continues at Lake + Lyndale in Minneapolis.
